In Solidarity with the AAPI Community

Reeling from the March 16th mass shooting near Atlanta that left eight people dead, six of them Asian American women, the Asian American and Pacific Islander community is rightfully enraged, frightened, and deserving of widespread and sustained multi-racial support. Justice Outside expresses our unwavering solidarity with the AAPI community. We recognize that this isn’t an isolated incident, but rather part of a longstanding pattern of racism against the AAPI community, recently inflamed by misinformation and racist rhetoric surrounding COVID-19. We unequivocally condemn hate crimes directed against Asian Americans and commit to deepening our work to eradicate white supremacist and misogynist violence, both in the outdoor sector and beyond. We invite you to read this post from The Center for Cultural Power for further info, reframing, and resources, as well as to follow AAPI Women Lead, AAPI Progressive Action, and Outdoor Asian.
