The Bronze Chapter

The Bronze Chapter’s focus is connecting communities of color with the outdoors, including a remembrance of their ancestors’ contributions to the creation and maintenance of many of our precious outdoor spaces. Since 2018, their team has provided communities of color with opportunities to learn outdoor skills through peer campouts and activities—skills and knowledge that can take participants from park campgrounds to wilderness areas. They believe in cultivating a collective consciousness of environmental care. They are addressing the pressing environmental conditions we face by providing opportunities to learn about environmental conservation and stewardship. The Bronze Chapter supports Black, Indigenous and Communities of Color in rewriting their outdoor narratives. One campout, one skill, one adventure at a time.
