Marbella was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley with roots in la isthmus centroamericana. She is a queer gardener who learns care, trust, and guidance from her relationship to plants. A 4th year student at UC Berkeley studying Ethnic Studies and Education Studies, Marbella works at the Multicultural Community Center (MCC) supporting the growth of the healing and learning garden project. They hope that their experience with the Outdoor Educators Institute will help them strengthen their courage and trust in themselves and their relationship to the outdoors and share her skills and access with her community.
