Denise Castro

Denise Castro (she/her/hers) is a proud Argentinian immigrant who grew up in the high deserts of Southern California. She graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Horticulture (Biodiversity/Ecological Restoration) from UC Davis and currently works for Save Mount Diablo, a nonprofit land trust in Walnut Creek, as their Education & Outreach Associate. She loves to bring schools out to the land trust’s properties to teach students about ecological restoration and nature journaling. She also organizes free recreational activities, such as hikes, through her work. She’s a strong advocate for conserving natural lands and promoting inclusive outdoor spaces for diverse communities. She likes to spend her free time exploring new hiking spots and trying new foods.
