Jasmine Amian

South Bay cohort

Jasmine (she/her) was born and raised in the Bay Area with an outgoing personality and an adventurous spirit. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and after graduating, moved down to LA to serve in an Americorps program called City Year. That ignited her passion for teaching and creating learning opportunities for underserved communities. Her desire for new experiences led her to teach abroad in Taiwan for two years. She now has a new found understanding of living and working in a different culture and a kindergarten-level ability of speaking Mandarin.  Now she’s back in the Bay ready to tie together her love of the outdoors with her commitment for social justice. Her favorite quote is “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

From a young age, her parents took her on countless camping trips and she could always be found swimming in lakes or climbing trees. Pre-Covid she was an avid rock climber, but now is happy to have an occasional trip out to the beach or hike. When not outdoors, she loves to sink her teeth into a good book, dive into deep conversations, journal, or play virtual board games on Tabletop.
