WILDCOAST is an international team that works to conserve coastal and marine ecosystems and addresses climate change through natural solutions. Their theory of change includes 5 impact areas as it relates to Indigenous student needs and in connection with the outdoors: connection, education, recreation, stewardship, and leadership. Their Coastal Leaders Internship is connecting native youth with the University of California, San Diego’s Intertribal Resource Center. Healing and restorative justice is central to their work and through that they are creating a pathway for native youth to build skill sets to bring back to invest in their communities and in support of protecting their ancestral lands.
