Part of North Oakland Community Charter School, Camp NOCCS Extended Day Programs focuses on providing equitable and engaging programming outside of the traditional school day, before and after school and over the summer. Camp NOCCS is open to all, but primarily supports Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) youth from the North Oakland community. Led by a team of women of color in Oakland, the Camp NOCCS team has a deep understanding of the role nature plays in children’s ability to connect with the environment in addition to gaining an outlet to cope with day-to-day stressors. Programs specialize in the NOCCS tradition of integrative arts based social justice learning, with a focus on outdoor exploration and adventure with outings to the many local waterways of the Bay Area.
