2017 OEI Alum
Erik Zepeda-Flores comes to the field of outdoor education with a background in Geography/Environmental Studies from UCLA. Through this lens, Erik developed a desire to address the social and environmental injustices that primarily affect communities of color. Erik hopes OEI will allow him to bridge the gap that many people of color face in accessing and navigating through outdoor spaces. Along with OEI, Erik is currently in his second year of service through Education Outside where he teaches outdoor science in an elementary school garden to connect all students to the natural world.
