Ernesto Marin

Ernesto Marin is an East Bay Area native, born in San Francisco, and raised in the city of Richmond.  Ernesto currently works as an Instructional Aide at Willard Middle School (Berkeley Unified School District) and coaches the youth climbing group at Bridges Rock Gym.  As part of his personal and professional passion with the Chicano culture, Ernesto created a small cohort of students at Willard, properly named, Latinos Unidos Para Siempre (L.U.P.S). From the creation of Altares, to the selling of pepinos con chile during field day, L.U.P.S has given the students an opportunity to represent their Raza however they see fit.  Ernesto has also had the opportunity to work as a parent coordinator for the district, helping parents navigate the educational system has been one of Ernesto’s greatest joys. When not at work, Ernesto enjoys bouldering (a form of rock climbing). Bouldering has expanded Ernesto’s interest in local areas to hike, climb and camp.  Residing in Richmond, Ernesto is looking forward to learning how to better contribute to his hometown.
