An Indigenous-led community collective focused on the preservation of the P’urhépecha culture and identity and strengthening of their ancestral knowledge and traditions. A long way from P’urhépecha’s homeland of Michoacan, Mexico, their migrant and immigrant communities sometimes find themselves struggling to maintain connection with ancestral traditions. Part of the organization’s work involves hosting activities following the P’urhépecha’s annual calendar of events, which involves a number of activities hosted on beaches and coastal settings, culminating in beach clean-ups. Inherently interwoven in P’urhépecha practices and traditions, caring for the Earth is at the forefront of their work.
