WaYa Outdoor Institute

A women led-organization, WaYa Outdoor Institute immerses campers 6-16 years old in hands-on experiential learning and native perspectives in the spectacular natural learning environments of the South Puget Sound Region. In collaboration with local land-based agencies and local native tribes, WaYa looks to combine “non-indian” ecology and native ecology as a means of reconnecting native youth to the outdoors in a meaningful manner. Their programming supports local youth to recognize the power in who they are, the power of their land, the power of their community, and the power of sharing knowledge to protect the Earth and their culture.
