Omar Orellana

2017 OEI Alum

Omar Orellano

Omar Orellana was born and raised in the Los Angeles neighborhood of South Los Angeles (formally named South Central). Omar is currently a third-year student at San Francisco State University majoring in sociology and minoring in parks and recreation. He aspires to go back to his community to teach and alleviate the constant struggles of others who grew up living with the social injustice and disparity that has been ingrained in their communities. Being from a low-income community, himself, Omar has experienced what it is like to not have adequate resources to  go out and explore in the natural world we live in. Omar strives to change that for the communities he works with.
