Miranda Baker (she/her/hers) has a B.S. in chemistry and works at the United States Geological Survey as an environmental geochemist. She’s an avid long distance backpacker who is interested in outdoor education as a means to communicate scientific research. Growing up in Santa Cruz with a grandmother who encouraged her love of adventure helped her develop a love of nature and the outdoors. Through the Outdoor Educators Institute, she hopes to develop skills to share the healing power of nature with groups historically and systematically denied access
