San Francisco / Oakland cohort
Emma Singer (she/her) is new to the Bay Area and slowly falling in love with the Pacific after a lifetime on the East Coast. If you ask her about her life before the Bay, she will almost certainly wax poetically about Philadelphia (we recommend you ask!!). Emma is passionate about doing work to disrupt the violent forces of capitalism/white supremacy/patriarchy and pursuing justice and joy. Spending time outdoors in community helps her achieve the latter. Prior to the global pandemic, Emma worked as an Environmental Educator with the Crissy Field Center. Now you can most likely find her cruising through the city on her really red bicycle, trying to get her friends to read Pleasure Activism, and tentatively getting back into art!
