San Francisco / Oakland cohort
Chey (they/them) was born and raised in San Francisco and is happy to be back in the Bay Area after being away for five years. They went to college at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they worked at the LGBTQ+ resource center and started the Queer and Trans People of Color group. In 2018, Chey was one of the main organizers of the Northeast Queer & Trans People of Color Conference. They are passionate about creating spaces and building community for and with LGBTQ+ BIPOC folks. Though new to the outdoors, Chey is excited to be part of the spring 2021 OEI cohort! They hope to bring new outdoor activities to their communities from what they learn at this year’s program.
