sol, they/them is a designer + visual storyteller based in oakland, ca. [ohlone land]
currently their work – rooted in empathy + intention – is to explore what holding the nuance is in an attempt to decolonize design. as a designer, it is their intention to continue interrogating the responsibility designers bear in producing social value and honestly assess the impacts of design on the lives of people, communities and society. they aim to continue being a critical interrogator of systems—institutional, economic, social, political and interpersonal—in order to create new systems of design. technology and biomimicry are the ways in which they are exploring sound solutions to sustainable social change.
