Fresno cohort
Erick Rangel (he/him) immigrated to the United States from Mexico at the age of six, and was raised in a small agricultural town in Fresno County. Growing up, he developed a passion for the intersection of culture, health, and the environment which led him to earn his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Global Health from UCLA (Go Bruins!). He currently manages a tobacco prevention program aimed at amplifying community voices to advocate for social and environmental justice efforts that reduce and prevent tobacco use and decrease exposure to secondhand smoke and toxic waste from tobacco in the Central Valley. Erick is driven to inspire youth and young adults to organize and advocate for equity while increasing access to green spaces to promote healing and health.
