Salma Berumen works at Groundwork Richmond as the Education and Community Outreach Manager in Richmond, CA. Salma works in collaboration with local youth and community members to combat climate change through urban forestry and citizen science. A recent California State University East Bay graduate, Salma brings her knowledge and expertise in Public Health and Health Promotion to provide communities with opportunities that center short term and long-term health outcomes through community based educational programs and policies that intentionally engage sectors of agriculture, environment, transportation, housing, and nutrition to overall promote health equity for individuals and families. In her spare time Salma likes to explore new hiking trails with her friends, reading books on social issues, and practicing self reflection.
