Lili grew up in Los Angeles, and feels most at home when surrounded by the sages and desert chaparrals native to that region. Lili spent two years as a FoodCorps member connecting youth with the outdoors first in rural Calaveras County, and then in urban public schools of Oakland. Now Lili connects to youth and the earth at Urban Adamah in Berkeley. She is learning about the power of storytelling, and feels most successful as an educator when her lessons provide space for youth to share both stories they create and stories they’ve inherited, of how to make sense of nature and food. Lili is excited to engage in collective action towards connecting youth of all identities and backgrounds to the outdoors through the Rising Leaders Fellowship.
