Anka is ethnically South Asian but was raised in post-British Hong Kong. As a result, she is a hodgepodge of several cultures, many of which are underrepresented in the outdoors community. As someone who loved nature her entire life but lacked people to share that with, Anka is enthusiastic about exposing folks to the outdoors who may not have had or considered the opportunity to engage with it. She is currently working at the Montana Natural History Center in Missoula (derived from the Salish name Nmesulétkw), where her role mostly involves a mix of exhibit development and youth education. In addition to her love for just about anything outdoors, Anka is a musician and a fan of mechanical nonsense.
