Manuel Belmonte (He/Him/Él) is a first generation chicano of Mexican descent. Rooted in a decolonial feminism, Manuel has been involved in water and land protection initiatives in solidarity with Indigenous communities, and navigates the outdoor recreation and education sphere with an environmental justice framework. He aims to reduce barriers to accessing nature in a culturally relevant and decolonial way in order to heal ourselves and the land. Currently working at Outdoor Outreach on Kumeyaay Land as the operations manager and has also been with Latino Outdoors for over 5 years.
