Jessie Jennewein (She/They) is a neurodivergent Colombian American passionate about society’s transition towards embodying a ‘slow lifestyle’ and more intersectional environmentalism through achieving racial justice, anticapitalism, and community care. Jesse is embracing her goblin-esque quirks, interests in storytelling and foods, and desire to enter her señora era. As a recovering museum professional advocating for equitable workplaces, Jessie has provided mentoring and workplace consulting focusing on neurodivergency and BIPOC support surrounding the complexities of identity that may influence communication and needs. Additionally, they are presently involved in local environmental and sustainable initiatives through The Huntington, the National Parks Conservation Association, Environmental Professionals Of Color L.A, and local “3rd places” movements. Jessie continues to reach new generations and help them find connection and build networks and partnerships that empower underrepresented communities in the environmental field and promote intersectionality in climate activism. Ultimately, their commitment to fostering rest, empathy, and activism has allowed her to embrace hope for systemic changes in combating climate injustices.
