Tanya Mahadwar is a proud first-generation Desi American. Originally hailing from Mumbai, India, she grew up on the Ohlone lands of the East Bay and now calls the Piscataway lands of Arlington, Virgina her home. They currently serve as an Associate for CEA Consulting, an environmental consultancy that advises philanthropies on their climate grantmaking strategies. Tanya considers the principles of equity and justice as necessary and non-negotiable to healing and cooling the planet. They are passionate about embedding community-building and mutual aid into their environmental advocacy. Tanya enjoys reading, yoga, and testing out new recipes, though she experiences the most joy from spending time with her friends, family, and animals.
