Jorge Alberto Lara Castillo

Jorge (he/him) is a queer DACA recipient originating from Guanajuato, Mexico. He currently live in East Oakland but spent his childhood in Arizona. He has been an educator working with youth for 10 years, with a focus on intersectional environmentalism, and he is currently working with the Friends of Peralta Hacienda Historical Park Organization whose mission includes centering Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities and experiences and empowering the youth in these communities to rise up and take the lead in our movement for transformative climate justice. When he is not with the youth, Jorge likes to spend most of his time amongst the redwood and bay laurel trees in the Redwood forest, skateboarding, and fostering community.
