Bia grew up in São Paulo, Brazil and migrated to the united states in 2014. They currently live, work, and learn in the territory of xučyun (Huichin), the ancestral and unceded land of the Chochenyo-speaking Ohlone people, otherwise known as the East Bay. They joined the informal education filed interested in the multitude of ways it allows for the removal of barriers to access. They are interested in cultivating inclusive and trauma-informed learning spaces where learners and teachers alike feel seen and valued as they collaborate in creating paths to be in better relationship with the natural world and their own communities. In their free time they enjoy reading comics and finding new bodies of water to stare at.
