Vianey is an indigenous Zapotec womxn from Oaxaca, migrating to the U.S at the age of 3, she found community as a way to understand the injustices of being undocumented. Along her journey, she found herself working with youth in outdoor exploration, environmental justice, the arts, and leadership development in the Northeast San Fernando Valley and throughout Los Angeles. She currently works as a Youth Coordinator with Pacoima Beautiful, where she mentors and works with youth around environmental justice issues and providing them the tools to be the next generation of environmental protectors and advocates. Vianey is also engaged in park planning projects aimed at creating green spaces for park-poor and food desert communities.
