Krystal Correa (they/she) is a social worker and educator whose life and work is guided by a commitment to a rigorous and radical love ethic (bell hooks). They are immensely grateful to have been able to experience deepening connection with nature and spirit in the last decade of living as a colonial settler on Duwamish land (Seattle) and prior to that, Tohono O’odham land (Tucson). Krystal has had the honor of supporting youth and families for the last 12 years in a multitude of ways including facilitating restorative justice circles, delivering violence intervention programming for families, and volunteering for summer camp. She is proud to come from a lineage of women who deeply care for others through food, laughter, and presence. Krystal dreams about the possibilities she can steward with outdoor education and her role at a non-traditional school in Burien, WA with her talented, creative students. Krystal grew up loving the ocean and their most impactful outdoor experiences have been near water, specifically rivers. She is excited to continue bringing her full queer, brown, fat self to nature and helping others do the same.
