Marisa Granados (she/her) grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico with the beautiful Sandia mountains in her backyard. As a child she enjoyed hiking and biking with her family and participating in citizen science through the Bosque Ecosystem Monitoring Program (BEMP). Marisa participated in several NatureBridge Olympic programs while in high school and credits these experiences for sparking her interest in the field of outdoor education. She graduated from Colorado State University (CSU) in 2022 with her Bachelors in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability. Since graduating, Marisa has enjoyed working in various outdoor education roles: at the CSU Environmental Learning Center as an educator, and most recently at YMCA BOLD & GOLD as a backpacking instructor. In her free time, Marisa enjoys reading, relaxing in the sun, and hanging out with her dog, Waffles. Marisa is incredibly excited to join the 2023 Seattle cohort of Justice Outside’s Outdoor Educators Institute and looks forward to continuing to grow as an educator.
