David Pon

Program Coordinator – Fresno cohort

Since 2007, David has striven to protect wild places and make transformative experiences in nature accessible for everyone. Through his work at the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, East Bay Regional Park District, Bay Area Wilderness Training, PGM ONE Summit, and Justice Outside, David has endeavored to center the experiences of historically marginalized people in outdoor spaces. An alum of the inaugural Rising Leaders Fellowship cohort, he is thrilled to return to Justice Outside in his current capacity, managing a leadership pipeline of future environmental educators who come from diverse backgrounds and hold myriad identities. David earned a B.S. in Environmental Science at UC Berkeley and has fond memories of living in cooperative student housing. On his off-days, you can find him picnicking by Lake Merritt or practicing his Cantonese in Oakland Chinatown.
