My name is Nenu Cruz, pronouns: they, them, elle. I am an undocuqueer forest school educator born and raised in Tenochtitlan also known as México City. However, I am a person with many homes. Long Beach (Tongva territory) has a special place in my heart. In LBC, I founded Rayitos de Sol an escuelita de bosque (forest school) rooted in ancestral ways. Rayitos de Sol is also a QTPOC-centered community space for children to build relationships with nature. I currently reside in Muwekma Ohlone territory also known as San José, where I am pursuing a BA degree in Early Childhood Education. I am also interested in deepening my relationship to the bay area, and building community here. So far, I’ve been embraced by the Redwood and Oak trees of these lands.
