My name is Jennifer López (She/they) and I from Southeast Los Angeles with roots in Mexico City and Oaxaca––places I hope to return to. I moved to the Bay Area in 2018 to attend UC Berkeley where I majored in Urban Planning and developed a passion for urban design, community development, and environmental justice. I hope to, eventually, attend grad school for city planning and dedicate my career to supporting the creation of healthier and more beautiful cities through community based participatory planning. Currently, I work supporting youth interested in watershed stewardship. Outside of work, I love to skate, surf, read, cook, finding ways to reduce waste, and rewatching Insecure.
Over the past few years, I’ve been working on deepening my connection to the earth, especially the ocean. I am excited to be a part of OEI because I hope it will give me the skills to bring my family, friends, and youth I work with along with me on this outdoor journey.
