Maryanna (she/her) grew up surrounded by mountains in Palmer, Alaska but didn’t start climbing and mountaineering until she moved to Seattle in 2010. She is currently the Guide Manager at Alpine Ascents International, where she takes a leading role in diversity and inclusion efforts and affinity programming. When she’s off the clock, Mary is a volunteer trip leader for Trail Mixed, a non-profit that aims to increase access to outdoor sports for women of color. In her very limited free time, Mary can be found backpacking with her golden retriever Momo, backcountry skiing, and whipping up new vegan recipes in her comically small kitchen.
